Porterbrook is the second largest ROSCO of the three created upon privatisation of the UK rail industry in 1994, the two others being Angel Trains and Eversholt (formerly HSBC rail). In 2014, Porterbrook’s fleet, still relatively young, comprised c.6,000 vehicles including regional, commuter, high-speed passenger trains, freight and wagons typically leased through 7- to 10-year contracts with train operating companies.
